This is one book wherein I am having a hard time giving it a rating - should it be Rated M for Mature or just PG 15. There are enough sex scenes and innuendos for it to border on erotica but it never really crossed the line.

So, if you do not have anything against steamy novels, then I would highly suggest reading this book. It's an adrenaline rush from page 1 when the Deputy Sheriff Milo Sykes had to be a hero. And then of course, his meeting with Arianna (a.k.a. Anna)added another adrenaline rush as sparks flew between the two of them.

Throughout the book, the author maintained a high level of excitement. Between Anna being in the protected witness program that is suspenseful by itself and the sexual awareness between the two main characters, you can't turn the pages fast enough.

This book is hard to put down once you started. So, if you're going to read it before going to bed, make sure you start early enough so that you'll get your usual hours of sleep or that you don't have to wake up early the next day because you would really want to finish the book once you start.

Small town Deputy Sykes, once an Afghan soldier and US Marshall, was asked as a favor to protect a mafia princess who has agreed to serve as a witness against her ruthless mafia father. On four different occasions while under protection by the US Marshall, Ariana's cover was discovered. Not knowing whether there was a leak in the program, Quinn, US Marshall and deputy Sykes's friend, asked him as a favor to take care and protect his witness. Deputy Sykes and Ariana against the draw of their hearts worked to maintain a professional relationship in an effort to keep her safe. It was a quick read and an entertaining one. I highly recommend this book.
This one is Milo the sheriff of the group of friends and his newest headache, charge and the one he can't live without Arianna.

This little lady is cheating death by her father's hand and hiding in plain sight with the Marshall service. Then suddenly there is no choice she has to be relocated when her handler believes they have been compromised. He and Milo contrive to keep her safe, while Milo struggles with his need for her and her raging hormones.

It's a wonderful story of life on the edge and facing death on a daily basis. I think it is one you will really like . I loved this entire series.
Cindy Stark did a great follow up to her book "Ruthless".
I just loved everything about Milo. When I read the first book his description came up different in my minds eye so this was a much more pleasant surprise. Not that the other was bad but this was much more sleek. The chemistry between Arianna (AKA-Anna) was so electrical it was just sizzling. Seeing the world through Ari's eyes was fun because it reminded me of a childs view for she had been so deprived of nature & what really counts "LOVE". I also thought it was funny when they went to tell his mother that he was married. (Of course none of this would ever happen this way but it does make for a fun story hence fiction). The reaction his mom had & how Ari handled it. This was a good solid follow up to in her series on Aspen. Which not all writers seem to do.
LAWLESS is the second book in the Aspen Series. I haven't read the first yet and don't know if I will.

First of all, I'm not going to re-write the synopsis as a lot of reviewers do...it's all in the book description which is very enticing. I always enjoy a book with a Witsec character and a Deputy or Marshall having to keep the witness protected. I was at 83% finished and still waiting for something to happen besides flirting. The characters are great and likeable. The story line itself is very good but it just lacked suspense, mystery and action. Oh there is action toward the end but that's all.

It's a good story and had a lot of potential but the author missed the mark by not adding any meat to the story.

Of course, this is just my opinion which is what a review is. Others may love it.

My third book in this series and fourth book by this author. I am definitely going to consume all books written by Ms. Stark.

This story idea was fresh and new. I was a little apprehensive when starting this book thinking, how is she going to write a story with just Milo and Ariana and not have it boring or just complete sex scenes. Very creative. I love the little twist and the loop in with Milo's mom. There was also a little bit of suspense in with this love story which just added to the enjoyment.

I love how the author writes the beautiful scenery in all of her books. I can just imagine myself in such a beautiful place. The descriptions are just enough without being overbearing in abundance.

Definitely a must read author and a must read series. I recommend this entire series to all romance readers. I just hope there is more of the Aspen series.
I dislike slasher movies where the girl does the thing the whole audience is screaming for her not to do and because of that Ariana's character did not work for me. I loved Milo's character. Everything about him felt believable so I know Ms. Stark can deliver so that leaves me wondering why she did not do equal justice to Ariana. For the record I had the same issues with the female character in the movie Eraser. I am naturally overly cautious but I feel that if you have witnessed extreme acts of violence from a group you are going to rat out you would be overly cautious no mater how long you were in the witness protection plan. I will admit there are probably people out there that would do exactly what this character did but I also wouldn't want to be friends with them so because I would find them stupid and/or selfish so why would I want something good like Milo happening for someone I do not like....
